It started with a bottle I made that didn’t even have a name.

I wasn’t trying to build anything. I just made it for me.

But I returned to it again and again seeking to make something better from it. Eventually it became something more.

People noticed. They asked what I was wearing and I never really had an answer.

I had never thought of it as anything more than something I made.

I made another for Darcy though.

This one was significantly different. It had no purpose beyond existing for her to smell like her.

She once said scent is the first thing people remember about you. Not what you say or your name but how you make people feel.

That’s something I carried and built into every creation I make.

Now, each thing I create, I think of in the same way.

Not how it smells first but how it remains with people.

Something that feels like it belongs to you. Something people remember you by.
